| Election Day in the United States is simply the time when the Powers That Be are taking a poll -- or a survey -- just to see what people are thinking. That's all. American citizens don't actually have a vote when it comes to Presidential elections. And so no President has ever been elected by popular vote, despite what the common herd might think. footnote |
