25) In Christianity, we are told to "give our heart to the Lord."   Where did this idea come from?


... the more we change, the more we stay the same.  "There is nothing new under the sun."


Personally, I think the Aztecs had it right.   They would rather give someone else's heart to the Lord!



"Thank you for your heart,
but I already have one ... see?
"

26)  Psalms 23:4   "Thy rod and thy staff."

This is one of the most famous quotes in the Bible, and yet ... how many know that it refers to Pharoah of Egypt, and not Jesus?



First of all, we need to understand that the staff is a shepherd's staff, as seen below:


... and the rod is the Rod of Discipline:



All reference books on Egypt will tell you that Pharoah was referred to as

"The Good Shepherd,"

who ruled with a Rod of Iron.
